Weischadle shows strength in numbers

Kurt Weischadle made the most of his six carries, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns as the Faith Baptist of Canoga Park 8-man football team won its 18th straight game with a 54-6 victory over host L.A. Lutheran of Sylmar on Saturday. Weischadle scored on runs of 37, 7 and 12 yards and helped the Contenders take a 34-0 first-quarter lead. Michael Roll added four touchdowns for Faith Baptist (5-0, 2-0), three on the ground and one on a 20-yard pass from quarterback Jonathan Rasmussen. Roll finished with 71 yards rushing and 30 receiving and Rasmussen was 8 of 12 passing for 153 yards and two scores. Thatcher 20, Santa Clarita Christian 12: Sophomore running back J.P. Dennis rushed for 124 yards on 28 carries for Santa Clarita Christian in a Heritage League loss to host Thatcher of Ojai.
