The jersey is red and green with each clubs crest on each sleeve and a new crest with crossed hurleys on the chest. It is a fantastic design and a historic union between the two clubs. Huge credit must go to both clubs in the organisation of the amalgamation so as to push the team into higher levels of competition. The team would like to thank the Rosses Credit Union and Cronanmac Coaches for making it all financially viable. The team has one league match left, then hopefully a place in league semi-finals, then the championship and finally the All Ireland Feile on the 20th June.In the Division One League match played in Rosses Park between Dungloe and Malin, Dungloe came out on top on a scoreline of Dungloe 3-7 Malin 10 points. Two early goals from Conor Greene and Adrian Sweeney had the home team well in charge in the first ten minutes. Conor Greene hit a brilliant free from the left hand side just before the break to see Dungloe lead by 2-6 to 1 point at the break. Malin responded well after the break and hit some fine scores; but a Geard Walsh goal with minutes remaining sealed the victory for the home team. The Dungloe Reserves were held to a draw at the weekend on a scoreline of 1-6 apiece. Dungloe started brightly in wet conditions and a Roberty Wehrley goal gave the home side the advantage. Malin responded well in the second half with some fine scores but both teams couldn’t be separated come the final whistle.Dungloe are a host club again this year in the All Ireland u14 hurling competition (Feile) over the weekend of the 20th June next. We are hosting a team from Annadowns in Galway. Twenty five players need to be placed with host families over the Friday and Saturday night. If you can help the club please contact Anne Marie Melley on Monday on 0749522208 for details.Dungloe Gweedore played Setanta in Gweedore in their penultimate league match. Dungloe Gweedore started strongly and although guilty of missing some goal scoring chances lead by 5 to 1 at half time. The second half saw a collapse with some unusual poor defending, bad clearances and little forward movement with some skies striking in the forward line leading to goal chances being hooked/ blocked. Dungloe concede 3 goals early in that second half and could not shake themselves sufficiently to recover and lost 3.3 to 1.7. The lads can take some positives from the first half display but by their own standards so far this year will be disappointed with the second half performance.U14 hurling result means that Dungloe Gweedore and Buncrana are joint fourth with top four qualifying for “A” spots. As Dungloe beat Buncrana thus may decide issue but alternatively a play off on the 17th May is earmarked. One round of league matches remain and the above is dependent on Dungloe Gweedore winning in a tricky away game to Ballyshannon next Thursday. GAA NEWS: WEHRLEY GOAL NOT ENOUGH AS DUNGLOE HELD BY MALIN IN RESERVE LEAGUE was last modified: May 12th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:dungloeGAANoticesSportlast_img read more
