ULSTER U21 CHAMPIONSHIP: HEROIC PERFORMANCE EARNS DONEGAL SEMI-FINAL DATE WITH MONAGHAN

first_imgMaxi Curran’s Donegal U21’s will face Monaghan in the Ulster U21 semi-final.Maxi Curran’s Donegal U21 side have been rewarded for their superb late, late win over Cavan last night with a semi-final meeting with Monaghan.Donegal looked dead and buried as the clock ticked towards the final minute of injury-time.However, a long ball inside by St Eunan’s star Conor Parke was collected superbly by Ciaran Thompson who offloaded to Ryan McHugh who dispatched his effort expertly to back of the Cavan net to send Donegal through. Donegal were dominant throughout but were very wasteful in front of goals and they almost paid the ultimate price for that wastefulness.Donegal’s reward is a semi-final date with Monaghan who put a strong Derry side to the sword last night.Derry had star player Neil McNicholl dismissed just before the interval and that proved very costly for the Oak Leafers.Monaghan used the extra man advantage to great effect in the second period and ran out comfortable four-point winners. Donegal will hope to have Willie Gillespie back fit for that clash with the Farney County. While Darrach O’Connor who was forced off with a knee injury will also be hoping to be fully fit for that clash next Wednesday night. ULSTER U21 CHAMPIONSHIP: HEROIC PERFORMANCE EARNS DONEGAL SEMI-FINAL DATE WITH MONAGHAN was last modified: March 19th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:CavandonegalGAAMaxi CurranMonaghannewsSportUlster U21 Championshiplast_img read more
